I specialize in Christian counseling in Ft Myers FL, and my counseling office is convenient to Cape Coral FL, Bonita Springs FL, Naples, FL, and Lee County FL. I received my Master's of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary.  Many of my clients are interested in working with a counselor that shares their faith, belief system, and values.  I provide counseling from a Christian perspective with a Biblical foundation. 
 
I believe the Bible is our foundation of truth, and psychology and mental health techniques and principles can help Christians heal. I teach techniques and strategies that are in line with Christian principles, and will help you become emotionally healthy.
 
I opened my Christian counseling office in Fort Myers in March of 2013, and previously had an office in Virginia for 10 years. Here are some of the issues that I have helped clients with through Christian counseling:

In my work with adults struggling with career, relationship, or self esteem/depression/anxiety issues, I use a variety of counseling techniques, most often cognitive-behavioral techniques.  We talk often about thinking patterns and how our thinking affects our actions.  We practice identifying negative thoughts and replacing them with positive ones.  I often recommend books or workbooks that help clarify and reinforce coping skills and techniques addressed in counseling.  I ask most clients to complete assessment tools, including those that measure depression, anxiety, and anger levels, or career interest inventories or personality tests if appropriate. 
 
Most clients see results in 8-10 counseling sessions, however many choose to continue therapy for up to a year or more as they identify their strengths, make positive life changes, set boundaries, improve communication skills, and strengthen their organizational and decision-making skills. Counseling appointments are available on Fridays, with some evening hours Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
